Job Listing: Maintenance Supervisor

WPLG, the ABC affiliate in Miami, has full time opening for a Broadcast Maintenance Supervisor.

The ideal candidate should be experienced at overseeing a staff of broadcast maintenance technicians. This will involve creating work schedules, assigning projects with oversight, prioritizing repairs, personnel reviews and training.  The preferred candidate needs knowledge of TV master control and studio equipment maintenance, including video servers, cameras, computer graphics, program and commercial playout automation, production automation, switchers, audio, editing systems, satellite news gathering, microwave relays and television transmitters. Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, networking equipment, and Local Area Networks is a must along with experience working in automated broadcast environments.  The successful candidate will be a self-starter, well organized and have a proven record in the oversight of technical repair. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Skills:

Knowledge of circuit theory and use of electronic test equipment.  AutoCAD drawing experience is a plus along with experience designing and completing the installation of Broadcast equipment. Proficiency with IT systems such as firewalls, switches routers and access points is also required.  Advanced knowledge of Broadcast systems such as Avid, Ross Overdrive/Caprica and SDVN networks.  Experience working on DSNG vehicles, MEPS and other equipment used in broadcasting is a plus. General knowledge and experience with mechanical-based equipment. Good eyesight and hearing.  The ability to climb ladders.  Candidate must also have the ability to lift equipment over 50 lbs.
