I-NEWS ONLY: Opera Singer Takes Stage At UM School Of Music
POSTED: Friday, January 19, 2007
MIAMI -- World-renowned opera singer Measha Brueggergosman is making the most of her time here in Miami.
The soprano, who is in South Florida for a special two-day performance with the Cleveland Orchestra, put on a free performance Friday at the University of Miami.
Brueggergosman filled the Clarke Recital Hall located on the UM campus in Coral Gables, teaching a one-hour master's class to music students and music lovers.
Two students from the UM Frost School of Music had the opportunity to perform and be critiqued by Brueggergosman.
The master's class ended much like Brueggergosman's paid performances do -- with a standing ovation from the audience.
Local10 Digital Correspondent Alex Alvarez spoke with Brueggergosman backstage at the UM Frost School of Music.
The soprano talked about her desire to teach the master's class and her experience in Miami performing with the Cleveland Orchestra.
