MIAMI -- Finding love is hard, no matter where you live, what you do, or what language you speak.

There are, of course, different ways of finding love -- the tired pick-up line, blind date, help from friends and family and now in the new millennium, the Internet.
It's online that the main characters of "Gringo Wedding," Matt (Justin Kane) and Rebecca (Ana Lucia Dominquez) find one another.
Not only do they speak different languages, they live in separate countries, with Matt living in Miami and Rebecca living in Colombia.
The film's writer/director, Tas Salini, is a video production teacher at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, who in his spare time wrote "Gringo Wedding."
At the press screening of the film in Miami Monday night, Salini said he got the idea for "Gringo Wedding" from his own personal experience with his marriage to his wife, who is from Columbia.
"I took some notes at the time and kept them, thinking they might make for a good script in the future," said Salini.
Salini's notes turned into a full-length feature film, featuring a funny, delightful and engaging look into the world of online, bilingual and bicultural dating.
Salini credited his co-stars, Kane and Dominquez for bringing his script to life -- and they had help from a variety of colorful supporting cast members.
For Kane and Dominquez, who like in the film don't speak each other's language, what drew them to the film was the challenging bilingual dialogue and Internet dating plot.
"It was something I could see myself doing if I couldn't find that special someone. I have a lot of friends who have hooked up online," said Dominquez.
"I felt like my character, Matt. I have everything pretty much together except that special someone," added Kane. "Maybe I'll find them online."
