CORAL GABLES -- Patou Fine Art will introduce its first collection of limited edition art furniture, Puzzle, as part of Gables Gallery Nights on Friday, March 7 from 7 to 10 p.m.
The latest addition to the Coral Gables art community, Patou exhibits a diverse array of mediums and styles for the art enthusiast and serious collector. Paintings, sculptures, drawings, lithographs, mixed-media, etchings, engravings, watercolors, and limited-edition furnishings, among others, will be on display.
Owner Thierry Desormeaux and his wife, Patou, the gallery's premier artist and namesake, present what they call a "living" gallery, constantly evolving, sourcing artists from around the world to exhibit in the gallery.
Originally from Monte Carlo and having lived in some of the world's most inspiring places, Patou has earned international acclaim for her three-dimensional, large-scale and heavily tactile abstract-expressionist paintings.
"I think my luxury has been because I started as a child, I'm not afraid to try anything," said Patou. "For me, when a crazy idea hits me, I go for it. Getting out of the comfort zone is really where I find a creative moment," she said.
Other leading contemporary artists on exhibit at Patou Fine Art include Rimi Yang, Francois Chartier, Jean Claude Brasset, Elias Toro, Diane d'Amico and Marie Wermuth.
Modern masters' works are also on displaying including Roberto Matta, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Wilfredo Lam and Fernand Leger, among many other renowned artists of the 20th century.
