Mexican Pop Singer, Soap Star Jailed On Drug Charge

MIAMI, Fla. -- Ranchero singer and soap opera star Pablo Montero was arrested Monday for alleged cocaine possession.

Montero, whose real name is Oscar Daniel Hernandez, was arrested after testing positive to a drug test.

Details about his arrest have not been released.

Montero was in town to help release the names of the nominees for the upcoming Latin Grammys.

Montero was arrested last year after running a red light and making an illegal turn. Police said they found a small bag of cocaine inside his car. Charges were dropped in exchange for Montero agreeing to a drug rehabilitation program.

Montero is currently the protagonist in the Spanish novela "Fuego en la sangre" produced by Televisa.

He is out on bond and must complete his drug rehabilitation program.
