POSTED: Monday, April 18, 2005
WASHINGTON -- Many more people are getting The Knack since it was revealed that President George W. Bush rocks out to "My Sharona."
Singer Doug Fieger told the Washington Post the number of hits to the group's
official Web site has quintupled since the story broke that "My Sharona" is one of the songs on Bush's iPod.
When asked if any other presidents expressed an awareness of The Knack's music, Fieger said, "Yes, Lincoln and Roosevelt."
"My Sharona" was featured on the group's smash album "Get the Knack" in 1979. It also spawned the hit "Good Girls Don't."
Among the other songs on Bush's iPod are John Fogerty's "Centerfield" and Van Morrison's "Brown-Eyed Girl."
