FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- A Jack Russell terrier missing for three years from her South Florida home was reunited with her owner on Wednesday.
Barbara Apostolo has no idea how her Jack Russell terrier, ToBoi, escaped from her Miramar home three years ago.
"She just disappeared," Apostolo said.
Two weeks ago, Apostolo received a letter from workers at a shelter in Louisiana, more than 1,000 miles away, saying they had found her dog. They had retrieved Apostolo's contact information from ToBoi's microchip.
When Janice Pickard heard about the three-year canine conundrum solved, she paid to fly ToBoi home.
On Wednesday, ToBoi was reunited with her long-lost owner at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
"She reminds me of three years ago, how things were when I first got her there," Apostolo said.
