LEBANON, Ohio -- A Cincinnati dad will
spend five days in jail for not paying child support, but it will take five years to serve his sentence, WLWT in Cincinnati reported.
Patrick Keneavy was found guilty of refusing to pay more than $17,000 in child support.
Warren County Common Pleas Judge James Flannery sentenced Keneavy to spend the next five Father's Days in jail.
Flannery told the Western-Star that he sentences almost all felony non-support defendants to jail on Father’s or Mother’s Day, depending on their gender.
Last Father's Day, 12 dads spent the day in jail, Flannery said.
As for Keneavy, Flannery said he will also serve five years probation and must pay the child support. If he fails to do so, Keneavy could face a year in jail.
