Sports Channels | Spurs Sign McDyessPOSTED: Friday, July 10, 2009 San Antonio, TX -- (Sports Network) - The San Antonio Spurs made it official on Friday, signing journeyman forward/center Antonio McDyess.Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the San Antonio Express-News quotes sources close to the player saying that the deal is for three seasons, and starting at the mid-level exception of $5.845 million. The 34-year-old McDyess, an All-Star in 2001 and a veteran of 13 seasons, is expected to play a big role in the low post to help Tim Duncan. McDyess spent the previous five seasons with the Detroit Pistons. He averaged 9.6 points and 9.8 rebounds over 62 contests during the 2008-09 campaign.
