NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- A man was found shot to death outside a popular restaurant in what police initially said appeared to be a dispute with another man over a parking space.
Dr. Bradley Timpf was found shot in the parking lot of Houston's Restaurant, 17455 Biscayne Blvd., at about 8 p.m. Sunday.
Witnesses initially said that a driver pulled out a gun and opened fire on another man who was trying to park in the same spot, but police later said it was uncertain if there had been a parking lot dispute.
"He was shot several times while seated inside of his vehicle," North Miami Beach police Sgt. Warren Hardison said.
Timpf, 32, was a chiropractor who worked in Coral Springs. Police said he was a former University of Miami basketball player.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
A memorial vigil will be held for Timpf at the Center for Natural Health at 6544 N. State Road 7 in Coconut Creek on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m.Copyright 2007 by
