Female Wrestling Coach Accused Of Lewd Behavior

Everglades High School Coach Given Reassignment Away From Students

POSTED: Thursday, March 8, 2007

A Broward high school wrestling coach and school security guard has been given a reassignment away from students after a teen said the man molested her.

Alain Tomas Cupas was charged with one county of lewd and lascivious molestation after being accused by a 15-year-old female student of molesting her in one of the Everglades High School gyms last Friday.

The teen said that Cupas was escorting the girl to internal suspension from a portable classroom when he pulled her into a room off the gym. The female wrestling coach began kissing her and rubbing against her, according to police.

A noise outside of the room caused Cupas to stop, the teen told police. He then escorted the girl to the office telling her "this is between you and me," the teen said.

Cupas is out of jail on bond, according to police.
