DANIA BEACH, Fla. -- Five teenagers were caught on camera stuffing their pockets full of AK-47 assault rifle bullets and investigators are trying to locate the teens before the bullets are put to use, they said.
BSO detectives said the teens were seen at 11:30 a.m. at the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World store. Store security cameras followed the five of them as they gathered in the Bass Pro gun department, said BSO.
One of the boys picked up five 20-round boxes of rifle cartridges, according to investigators. He then handed off a box to each of his accomplices, who then emptied the bullets into their pants pockets, then walked toward the checkout lanes and exited the store, investigators said.
The suspects, ages 16 to 20 years old, were then photographed getting into a new silver Dodge Charger.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Broward Sheriff’s Office at 954-765-4321 or Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS.
