MIAMI -- More than a dozen bicyclists were hurt after the driver of a car pulled out into their path and struck them, Miami-Dade police said.
The pack of about 40 bicyclists were riding at a fast pace when a car pulled out of an apartment complex on Southwest 62nd Street. The riders couldn't stop in time and were struck by the car.
Seven people were hospitalized and about a half-dozen others were treated at the scene. Two of the bicyclists were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in critical but stable condition. Another five were listed in stable condition.
The driver of the car wasn't cited.
