COCONUT CREEK, Fla. -- Two men armed with handguns are being sought for a string of robberies early Monday morning that started at a 24-hour pharmacy in Lauderhill an ended at another pharmacy in Coconut Creek. Police said the duo also robbed a pharmacy in Margate in between the other two holdups.
The robbery spree started a little after 3 a.m. at the CVS Pharmacy at 6501 West Oakland Park Boulevard in Lauderhill, followed an hour later at another CVS Pharmacy at South State Road 7 in Margate, police said. At 4:30 a.m., police said the same men entered a Walgreens Pharmacy at Coconut Creek Parkway and Lyons Road and robbed that store, according to investigators.
Police said witnesses at the Walgreen's said the men got away in a gray, four-door Volkswagen Jetta.
In each case, police said one man wore a Halloween mask and another wore a black ski mask.
The description of the robbers also fits a fourth robbery that happened Sept. 30 at a Walgreens in Tamarac.
"With these bad guys entering into a store with guns to people's heads demanding money, this is a grave situation. These people are armed and dangerous. We need the cooperation of the public that if they know information about this, they need to contact us. These people need to be off the street and they need to be behind bars," Coconut Creek police spokesman Anthony Avello told Local 10's Rad Berky.
Investigators are not saying how much cash was taken in each of the robberies.
