Man With History Of ID Theft Apprehended
Tip Leads Police To Public Storage Facility Where Suspect Found

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Coral Gables police have arrested a man who was sought on numerous identity theft-related charges.
Police said they received a tip Monday that Thomas Barrett Stringer, 42, was at a public storage facility in the 2300 block of Biscayne Boulevard in Miami. Coral Gables police detectives went to the location and apprehended him without incident.
Stringer is accused of having stolen at least $100,000 in cash and items using stolen identities. He was charged with making a false statement to obtain credit, scheme to defraud, criminal use of personal identification, fraudulent use of a credit card, dealing in credit cards of another and possession of a fraudulent drivers license.
Police said he makes Florida driver's licenses with his image using other people's information. He has been arrested 25 times in the past on identity theft-related charges.
Stringer had numerous identifications belonging to other people at the time of his arrest, police said. Detectives said they believe Stringer was in the process of victimizing others.
