Police: Ex-Boyfriend Shot Woman In Vagina

Shooting May Have Been Over Drug Dispute

Police say a woman's boyfriend told them her ex-boyfriend shot her in the vagina at her Palmetto Bay home.

PALMETTO BAY, Fla. -- Police said a woman was shot in the vagina at her Palmetto Bay home Monday night.

According to Miami-Dade police spokeswoman Nelda Fonticiella, the victim's boyfriend called police and said an ex-boyfriend shot her in the vagina.

Police said the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute, possibly over drugs. Police said several drugs were found in the home at 19805 SW 114th Ave.

A neighbor said the 19-year-old victim gave birth to a child a few weeks ago.

The victim was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Police said she was expected to survive.

It was unclear if the victim's ex-boyfriend has been charged.
