Rilya's Caretakers Will Not Be Allowed To See Her Sister
Rodericka Wilson To Be Adopted
POSTED: 5:53 p.m. EDT July 24, 2002
MIAMI -- The sister of Rilya Wilson will not see the women who cared for the girls before a couple is allowed to adopt her.
Judge Cindy Lederman decided Wednesday that she will not allow sisters Pamela and Geralyn Graham to see 2-year-old Rodericka Wilson.
The Grahams lost custody of Rodericka after it was discovered that her sister Rilya was missing.
An investigation showed that the Department of Children and Families didn't visit check up on Rilya for more than a year, despite a requirement that it do so monthly.
Lederman said her decision was based on a psychologist's report saying that a final visit by the Grahams would be too confusing for Rodericka.
