DORAL, Fla. -- The Dolphin Mall was given the all clear from the Miami-Dade Police Department and reopened at 6 p.m. Wednesday after being closed for most of the day.
Police kept patrons at the mall from going in or out while they searched for as many as two suspected home invaders possibly hiding out there.
Miami-Dade police said they have two people in custody, but two more are still at large.
The victim of a home invasion, who followed the fleeing robbers to the Dolphin Mall, was taken to a hospital by paramedics. He was apparently beaten during the robbery.
Neighbors in the subdivision said they saw a white van driving around the block several times before seeing four men burst into the pink home.
Miami-Dade detectives spent several hours at the home.
"They made us close gates, go in back and stay out of sight," said Cindy Torna, who works as a sales clerk in one of the mall's stores.
Eric Pantoja, a store employee, said: "We saw first guy run by. We thought it was just a regular guy stealing from Old Navy."
The white van was found abandoned in the mall's parking lot.
