HIALEAH, Fla. -- An art collector says he set up his own sting and caught the two men who stole his $800,000 rug then tried to sell it back to him.

The owner of the rare 13th century Spanish tapestry (both pictured) said it was stolen from his home two years ago during a burglary.
In the last few days, he says he was contacted by two men who offered to sell the antique rug back to him for $6,500. The collector described the conversation.
"He gave me some kind of weird story, and (said), I'm not going to see it again or I'm not going to get it again, because, 'I'm going to give it to the highest bidder.' And I said, 'No, no, no -- I'll pay you the $6,500,'" the collector said.
He agreed to meet the men and then he called Hialeah police who were there when the tapestry owner met the men. The sellers were arrested on the spot.
