Dirty Dining Report Reveals Live Mouse Found At Annie Mae's Cafe

MIAMI -- The owner of a Brownsville restaurant told Local 10's Jeff Weinsier it's hard to keep the rodents away when there is a huge, illegal dump right next door.
Inspectors with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation recently ordered the owner of Annie Mae's Cafe, located at 2445 NW 54th St., to shut her doors after 33 violations were found in the kitchen.
According to the inspection report obtained by Local 10, the inspector found a live mouse in the kitchen. There were "25 hard and shiny droppings found in the kitchen and storage area," the inspector wrote.
The owner of Annie Mae's pointed to a vacant lot at the corner of Northwest 55th Street and 24th Court. The lot is located next to the restaurant and has turned into a dump.
People have been dumping garbage, furniture, and tree limbs and brush.
Local 10 contacted Team Metro. A representative said since the owner of the lot has ignored several requests to clean up, Miami-Dade County will have to clean it up and place a lien on the lot.
The owner of Annie Mae's said it's taking too long.
She closed her diner for a week, cleaned up the restaurant and sealed all the holes. The state allowed Annie Mae's to re-open following a reinspection.
