MIAMI -- A woman who claims she's entitled to half her husband's lottery winnings will have to wait a while longer to get her wish.

Donna Campbell claims Arnim Ramdass tried to keep about $600,000 in lottery winnings from her, so she's suing her husband in an attempt to get half. But a judge Thursday told Campbell's attorney he would have to rewrite the complaint to state Ramdass played the lottery with his wages.

"His wages are certainly marital assets, in which Ms. Campbell has a present interest," Campbell's attorney, Bruce Baldwin, said.

Ramdass was one of 17 airline mechanics who won the $19 million jackpot June 20 from a ticket purchased at a Kwik Stop in Pinecrest. The group split the earnings and opted for the lump-sum payment of $10.2 million, so each got about $600,000 before taxes.

Campbell said she found out about it after an Internet Google search of Ramdass' name. When she confronted him about it, Ramdass had already transferred the money to his daughter from another marriage.

All the while, Campbell was in and out of the hospital being treated for severe autoimmune disease. Campbell said she has been unable to support herself and feels betrayed.

"It was very painful," Campbell said outside the courthouse Thursday. "It is very painful for me at this time."

Ramdass' attorney, Luis Udaz, said Campbell would have to divorce Ramdass to get any of the money, but the judge rejected that notion. The couple has been married since 2005.

"I've been painfully waiting for justice, so I'll just have to wait a little bit longer," Campbell said.
