FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Summer may be ending, but now is when the race for governor will really start to heat up.
And a new Survey USA poll shows Tampa attorney Bill McBride finishing ahead of Gov. Jeb Bush, winning 49 percent of the vote to Bush's 46 percent. Just weeks ago, McBride was trailing by 12 points.
But before McBride even has a chance against Bush, he needs to win next week's Democratic primary.
A
Miami Herald poll shows McBride is gaining on chief opponent Janet Reno, trailing her now by just two points.
The new survey was taken after the Democratic debate.
