LAUDERHILL, Fla. -- A 10-month-old girl rescued from a burning home in Lauderhill is back in the hospital Wednesday.
Kaniyah Allen was admitted into Plantation General Hospital Tuesday due to complications suffered from the fire.
Allen was inside the home on 550 NW 35th Terrace when it caught fire last Sunday morning. According to Lauderhill Fire Rescue, a 10-year-old girl who was also inside the home woke up to the smell of smoke. She ran to a neighbor's house to call 911.
Allen and the girl were rescued along with Allen's mom and a 1-year-old girl.
All four victims suffered smoke inhalation. Allen was placed on a ventilator and released Monday.
Fire investigators said a pot left on a burning stove sparked the fire.
