UM On Alert: Concern Over Student Safety

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Security at the University of Miami is on high alert after a group of students were robbed at gunpoint.

The four students were robbed while walking back to campus from Sunset Place about 1 a.m. Saturday.

The mall is only a few blocks away from campus. UM senior Genevive Carvil said, " A lot of students walk from Sunset Place." Campus police is encouraging student not to do it late at night.

Students are encouraged to use shuttle buses or call campus for an escort.
