The Seminole Tribe has donated $300,000 to help gambling addicts across Florida receive free treatment for their problems.

The Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling, a nonprofit organization, plans to begin a free treatment program for gambling addicts with the funding.

State funds currently go to outreach and doctor training programs. Funds are prohibited from being used for treatments.

The council has not announced where it will locate the first treatment center.
