Woman, Son Offer Pills As Payment For Hit

Authorities in Port St. Lucie have arrested a women and her son on suspicion of plotting to kill two men for their inheritance.

According to police, 44-year-old Therese Batson and 23-year-old William Allen Cook offered an informant 29 anti-anxiety pills as down payment to kill Batson's live-in boyfriend and brother. She also offered a truck, a boat and a camper belonging to one of the intended victims after the job was done.

Batson and Cook are charged with two felony counts each of solicitation to commit murder.

Cook was also charged with possession and delivery of a controlled substance.

Both remain in jail with no bond.
