CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- A man accused of dragging and killing a man with his car is under arrest. Police said a tip led them to the suspect.
Emmanuel Carry was arrested Sunday night in North Miami Beach. Detectives said he was taken into custody without incident at the home of his sister-in-law.
The 2005 Honda Element believed to have been used in the dragging death was also recovered there.
Investigators said Carry and Patrick Dameus had an argument Sunday morning in a parking lot on the 4200 block of Riverside Drive in Coral Springs. Dameus was standing on the sidewalk when Carry hit him several times with his car, before taking off with his victim trapped underneath it.
Carry then dragged Dameus for 2.5 miles to State Road Seven just south of Wiles Road, police said.
Dameus died at the scene.
Carry is scheduled to face a judge on Monday.
