According to the Florida Department of Education, New Renaissance had 408 incidents on campus for the 2006-2007 school year.

Parents who talked to Local 10 outside the school on Monday afternoon had no idea and were shocked to see the number.

"How do you get this? Why don't we know?" one parent said.

The Florida Department of Education releases the numbers as part of the Florida School Indicators Report. The report includes incidents that involve weapons, drugs, sex crimes, fights, violent acts against a person and disorderly conduct.

When you look at the numbers, remember there are 180 days in a school year.

The Miami-Dade County Public Schools did not make principals available for comment.

Some of the tallies for Miami-Dade schools are as follows:

  • Brownsville Middle: 212 incidents
  • Charles Drew Middle: 231 incidents
