Miami International Airport has earned top honors for its security.

The Transportation Security Administration has named MIA "Airport of the Year."

According to TSA, the airport, which serves nearly 34 million passengers each year, implements the highest quality of security, while still being courteous and attentive to customers.

MIA recently added new security amenities that include Advanced Technology X-Rays and Whole Body Imaging systems. With these added amenities, more than 98 percent of MIA's passengers wait less than 10 minutes to be processed by the TSA.
