POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -- A man is under arrest accused of leading police on a wild chase through Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
Investigators said the pursuit began in Hialeah Saturday morning, when officers tried to pull over the suspect in his car because it matched the description wanted in an armed robbery.
The suspect allegedly tried to run over an officer and took off.
Detectives said officers used stop sticks to stop his car when he rammed his truck into a Miami and Hialeah police cruiser.
The chase came to an end on the Turnpike in Pompano Beach where officers said they opened fire.
Investigators said the man was shot in the arm.
He was taken to Broward General Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
