CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Two marching bands from Florida have been invited to parade down Pennsylvania Avenue after President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration next month.
The Presidential Inaugural Committee announced Monday that it had tapped the band from J. P. Taravella High School in Coral Springs and the Florida A&M University Marching "100" Band. More than 1,380 organizations applied to participate in the 56th Inaugural Parade -- a record number.
All band members are responsible for paying their own way to Washington for the Jan. 20 parade.
