Deal To Buy NBC 6 Is Off

MIAMI -- The proposed sale of NBC 6 to the Washington Post Company, which owns Channel 10, will not happen.

The two parties announced Tuesday that the deal is off.

Both companies cite the current economic conditions and the difficulty with the regulatory process for the decision.

It was back in March when NBC first announced it was selling WTVJ. A few months later, the Washington Post indicated it would buy the station.

Now the deal, which was supposed to close at the end of 2008, will not take place.
