DAVIE, Fla. -- Investigators said carbon monoxide poisoning was to blame for the deaths of an elderly man and woman on Sunday night in Davie.
Police said the woman was taking her husband, who uses a wheelchair, out of their car and forgot to turn off the engine.
When she remembered, she returned the garage and she was overcome by fumes, police said.
The woman had left the door open. Her husband and their pet dog also died because of the fumes, according to investigators.
