State lawmakers' latest financial funding maneuver is another slap in the face to South Florida schools.
Once again, our large, urban schools suffer the consequences of inequitable funding.
This time, lawmakers want to balance next year's budget by dipping into millions designated to maintain and repair aging classrooms.
Once again, schools and jobs are on the line. State lawmakers have already shortchanged Miami-Dade and Broward's districts in calculating property tax funding and money for class size cuts.
Local 10 urges every viewer to take a stand. Call your lawmaker and insist on fair and equitable funding for this state's largest districts -- and your students.
