Two school children and a Broward Sheriff's Office deputy were taken to a hospital Thursday after a school bus and a police vehicle collided in Deerfield Beach, according to BSO.

BSO said the crash was reported at 2:25 p.m. Police said the school bus from Westglades Middle School with nine children aboard collided with the deputy's vehicle near Southwest 10th Street and Southwest Sixth Avenue.

It is unclear what caused the crash or which driver was at fault.

BSO said two children and the deputy were taken to North Broward Medical Center. While the deputy was listed as a trauma alert, police did not know the extent of the children's injuries.
