A man was caught on surveillance video over the weekend as he burglarized two businesses near Oakland Park over the weekend.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the burglaries occurred between 6 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday at Toilet Taxi of South Florida and M&M Excavating, Inc., which are across the street from each other in the 2700 block of Northwest 55th Court.

Police said the burglar cut the locks off the front gates of each business and then forced locks off other doors and containers once inside.

The burglar took two generators, worth a total of more than $5,000, and some fishing equipment from M&M Excavating. BSO said the owner of Toilet Taxi of South Florida is still trying to determine whether anything was stolen there.

BSO said surveillance video from nearby businesses showed the burglar loading stolen items into a black 2005 Ford F150 Lariat Extended Cab truck.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
