NFL player Donte Stallworth was released from jail Friday after serving time on a 30-day sentence for DUI manslaughter.

Stallworth, a 28-year-old wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, was charged with DUI manslaughter after police said he hit and killed 59-year-old Mario Reyes with his Bentley on the MacArthur Causeway on March 14.

Police said Stallworth's blood-alcohol level was well over the legal limit at 0.126 percent and that he tested positive for marijuana, as well.

As part of a plea agreement, Stallworth pleaded guilty in June to DUI manslaughter charges. He was sentenced to 30 days in prison, two years of house arrest and eight years of probation. His driver's license will be suspended for life, and he must serve 1,000 hours of community service.

Stallworth was released from Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at about 6 a.m. Friday after serving 24 days of the 30-day sentence. He was released early for good behavior.

Stallworth also reached a settlement with Reyes' family, but the terms of that settlement have not been made public.

It is unknown whether Stallworth will be allowed to play in the NFL again.
