ORLANDO, Fla. -- The bodies of a man and woman were found Saturday afternoon in a suburban Orlando home along with dozens of exotic animals.
Police said officers found the bodies about 2 p.m. while conducting a well-being check of the home's residents. Besides the bodies of Kathryn Whitson and Walter Simpson, both 72, officers found 20 birds, five cats, three dogs and four monkeys. One monkey was reportedly standing guard over one of the bodies.
Police and animal control officials were trying to contain the animals and figure out what to do with all of them.
The Orange County Medical Examiner's Office will determine when and how exactly the pair died.
