Rilya Wilson is the poster child for how children in state care can fall through the cracks and disappear. Now her name may also be tied to a solution.

This photo is age-enhanced to show Rilya as she may have appear recentlyState Sen. Frederica Wilson supports the Rilya Wilson act. It is named for the 5-year-old Miami girl who has been missing for months from the Department of Children and Families' care.

The bill would require any child aged 3 and over who is under DCF care and already in a preschool program to remain in school.

The logic is, if a child is in school then they can be monitored more closely. The Senate Children and Families Committee voted unanimously to approve the bill, which has three more committee stops.
