Kitchen Fire Damages Miami Apartment

Fire Displaces 3 Residents

MIAMI -- A kitchen fire heavily damaged a Miami apartment on Wednesday afternoon, according to Miami Fire Rescue.

The fire broke out at a home in a building in the 400 block Northwest 19th Street at about 4 p.m.

Fire officials said they were able to contain the blaze to one unit. Another unit had smoke damage, as well.

Lt. Ignatius Carroll of Miami Fire Rescue said the fire appeared to be accidental.

Everyone was evacuated. Officials said three people were displaced because of the fire.
