MIAMI -- A man and a woman were killed Thursday night in what police described as a domestic-related shooting between an estranged couple.
Just after 10 p.m. Thursday, Miami-Dade police received a call about a woman in distress in an apartment complex in the 19000 block of Northwest 57th Avenue.
Neighbors said they heard fighting and struggling, and one resident reported hearing three shots.
When officers arrived, they found that a woman and a man had been shot.
The man died at the scene. The woman died at a hospital.
Miami-Dade police identified the couple as 35-year-old Natasha Murph and 36-year-old Clifford Murph.
Miami-Dade police said Natasha Murph was a correctional officer with the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department.
Neighbors said Clifford Murph also worked for the corrections department, but police have not confirmed that.
Neighbors said Natasha Murph had moved into the apartments four months ago. The couple leaves behind two teenage daughters, who were not home at the time of the shootings, Local 10's Neki Mohan reported.
