PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. -- A South Florida food bank that lost thousands of pounds of food in a warehouse fire has recovered much of that food thanks to a huge donation.
The Jim Moran Foundation donated 6,000 pounds of food Saturday to Feeding South Florida, formally known as the Daily Bread Food Bank.
Hundreds of volunteers spent Saturday helping sort through the donated items. The items must be sorted and packed for distribution.
On Sept. 30 a fire at the food bank destroyed 93,000 pounds of food.
