Man On Bike Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash

MIAMI -- Police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a man in southwest Miami-Dade County.

The victim was riding his bike home from work Monday night when he was hit along Southwest 152nd Street and 157th Avenue.

Police said the victim's family began to search for the man when he did not return home and found his body along the roadside.

On Tuesday, police identified the victim as 46-year-old Yasmany Sosa Alfonso.

"This is a violent crime. We're seeing husbands, fathers and sons being struck and left to die on the side of these roadways," said Miami-Dade police Detective Roy Rutland. "It's tragic and these are not the only victims. We have family members out here that are clearly victims as well."

Investigators do not have a description of the vehicle. They are urging the public to call police if they have any information.
