Gulfstream Park is being transformed from a casino and horse racing venue to a shopping mecca.

The first store at The Village At Gulfstream in Hallandale Beach will open its doors Thursday morning. Crate and Barrel will soon be flanked by more than a dozen designer stores.

Restaurant Texas de Brazil was the first restaurant to open in the new expansion area.

Gulfstream Park will offer approximately 70 stores combing upscale fashion, home accessory shops and restaurants. The venue will also offer office space, a future hotel and residential space.

The grand opening is planned for February 2010.
