A police pursuit ended Thursday morning with officers opening fire on two men in southwest Miami-Dade County.

Miami-Dade police said an officer in an unmarked vehicle saw two men in a burgundy Ford Edge "acting suspicious." The officer turned on his lights to pull over the vehicle, but police said the men tried to escape in the car.

The officer gave chase and caught up with the Ford near 117th Avenue and 56th street. Miami-Dade police said the two men and the officer got into a confrontation, and the officer opened fire.

The driver of the Ford had minor injuries and was taken to Kendall Regional Hospital. The passenger was uninjured and was taken into custody.

The officer had a minor injury to his hand and was treated at the scene, Miami-Dade police said.
