Broward Students Need Help To Set Record
Drive Provides Broward Families With Children With Complete Thanksgiving Meal

WESTON, Fla. -- Broward students need your help to achieve this year's goal for the Harvest Drive: To provide a complete Thanksgiving dinner plus a week's worth of groceries, clothing, shoes, books and toys to 1,000 needy families in Broward County.
Organizers say this year will be their biggest drive to date.
The Harvest Drive is a year long project that culminates in different event at several public schools every Thanksgiving. Fundraising efforts and collections are under way today at Western High School in Weston.
You can help by donating any of the following non-perishable items:Juice Canned vegetables Canned sweet potatoes Canned gravy Canned cranberries Canned fruit Canned soup Pancake mix Pancake syrup Cereal/Oatmeal Pasta or Rice Spaghetti sauce Cookies Peanut butter Jelly Stuffing Napkins Aluminum foil Shampoo Dish Soap Laundry detergent Canned tuna or meat Large toothpaste Soap/Body WashYou can take your donations to Western High School in Weston between 3 and 9 p.m. Friday.
Volunteers will then sort, inventory and label all donations. The non-perishable food items are packed in several grocery bags that are given to families on Thanksgiving day.
The families are referred by different social service agencies, as well as by the school social workers, based on their financial need.
