FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- He's been called a gifted storyteller and a rodeo clown.
Friday night, Glenn Beck made a visit to South Florida.
The line to see the libertarian-cable-television superstar spanned around Barnes and Noble in Fort Lauderdale where he signed copies of his newest best-selling book: "Arguing With Idiots."
"I've learned an awful lot about community organizing in the last year and two can play that game," Beck shouted into a megaphone inside the store.
Eager fans were ushered in and out quickly. Many were elated to have the chance to meet the usually-outspoken commentator.
Getting him to speak with Local 10 was not easy.
Beck was guarded by police and personal bodyguards.
But after signing hundreds of autographs, he stopped to talk about his agenda.
"I think most people are done with parties. Anybody who's playing with parties now, I don't think you're going to be playing with that a year from now," he told Local 10's Janine Stanwood.
Beck said he was a voice for ordinary people.
"For me as a dad, my children. I have four children and I'm concerned about the sustainability of the debt and the road that we're on. It was wrong under George Bush. It's wrong now," he said.
