HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. -- A teenage trend called "Triple C" almost killed a Hallandale High School student after she suffered a seizure at school and stopped breathing.
The 16-year-old girl, who did not want to reveal her name, told Local 10's Sasha Andrade that she took 16 pills of a drug called Coricidin.
In small doses, Coricidin is designed to treat the flu. In large doses, it can kill you.
The girl's mother, was listening in on the commotion from the other end of a cell phone.
"I drop what I'm doing and I run. I'm hysterical, I'm frantic," said Marilyn Perez.
Perez said two teachers rushed to her daughters aid, performed CPR and revived her.
The teen said she no longer wants anything to do with medication.
"Never. I don't want to go near a pill -- not even if I have a cold. I don't want to take pills," she said.
