Warning Issued For Toys From China

Some Toys Contain High Lead

This Christmas season, the office of Customs and Border Protection wants to remind parents about safety issues regarding some toys from China. Thousands of seemingly harmless toys that are illegal in the United States are making their way to store shelves.

Some items which contain high levels of lead paint. Others have small parts a child could easily choke on.

Last week, Customs and Border Protection seized over 3,500 toys that were coming to South Florida from China.

In addition to the hazardous toys, a number of counterfeit products were also seized. “Our officers in the field are working diligently to ensure the safety of the American public and are committed to detecting trade that is in violation of Consumer Product safety Commission Laws,"
