FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The surveillance video is a little fuzzy, but it clearly shows a man being run over by a station wagon.
The victim, John Hill, is a college professor, landlord and long-time Fort Lauderdale resident.
According to witnesses, Hill asked a visitor at the apartment complex he owns to move his car from where it was parked.
“He said, 'Please do not park on the grass,'” Brandon Johnson told Local 10's Sasha Andrade.
That's when the driver, Franklin Parker, floored his vehicle and plowed into Hill, police said.
The surveillance video shows Parker getting out of the car and attacking Johnson . Meanwhile, Hill was still trapped under Parker's station wagon.
By the time police arrived, a crowd had taken Parker down. With the help of the police, they were able to lift the car and rescue Hill who suffered non-life threatening injuries during the ordeal.
